Rosoboronexport Signs an Anti-Hacker Program

The ARMY 2017 International Military Technical Forum hosted the signing of the Joint Activities Program promoting special purpose products by JSC Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) and JSC Concern Avtomatika (part of the Rostec’s radioelectronic cluster) on August 22, 2017.

The document states that the special exporter will be engaged in the supplies of information security systems to the international market in 2017-2019. Rostec’s 2025 Strategy provides for the annual revenue growth achieved through the promotion of smart products, including electronics and security systems, to the new markets.

“We have recorded an increased demand for various projects related to cyber security. Rosoboronexport’s offers to the foreign customers include social network monitoring, antivirus, cryptography and other IT projects. This is a new niche in the field of military-technical cooperation actively developed by the company. At present the special exporter runs about 10 projects. “Our advantage in this field is that in addition to supplying hardware and software, we can also create systems on a turnkey basis,” – Director General of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev said.

The company’s hardware and software solutions are part of the Rosoboronexport’s new project named The Russian Security Systems. A special cluster of enterprises has been set up for its development. The systems ensure the protection of governmental authorities and critical areas of military and civilian infrastructure against cyber attacks and other breaches through information networks. They also provide thorough monitoring of information media and identification of terrorist and public security threats.

“Many foreign countries consider cyber threats to be just as topical as other national security issues. In response to our customers’ requests, we have sent various security proposals to more than 20 countries”, – Alexander Mikheev added.
