Orbital ATK to display advanced products and capabilities for Special Operations

Orbital-ATK-Eliminator-1

Orbital ATK, a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, will display a wide range of the company’s defense products and advanced capabilities as an exhibitor during the 2018 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC). SOFIC provides Orbital ATK an ideal setting to highlight products that support current and future challenges faced by U.S. and allied special operations forces around the globe.

SOFIC will be held May 22-24, 2018, at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida. The Orbital ATK display is located at booth 648.

Key solutions include the AC-208 Eliminator™, the latest version of the highly successful AC-208B Armed Caravan aircraft. The Eliminator™ is able to find, fix, identify, track, target, and engage emerging and time-sensitive targets with two HELLFIRE® missiles per wing or seven 2.75-inch guided rockets per wing, based on mission requirements. The strike capabilities complement a robust suite of sensors and communications equipment for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

The Palletized Weapon System (PaWS) combines Orbital ATK’s combat proven GAU-23 30mm cannon and mission system operators console. The system can be rapidly uploaded and/or downloaded using standard forklift equipment and is designed for easy configuration change and provides the customer with flexible, multiple mission capabilities. In addition, its fielded AC-235 Light Gunship provides customers with sustained and precise firepower in a variety of scenarios using HELLFIRE® laser-guided missiles, 2.75-inch rockets, and Orbital ATK’s side-mounted M230 link-fed 30mm chain gun: all utilizing an integrated electro-optical targeting system with a laser designator and a synthetic aperture radar. Orbital ATK offers self-protection equipment on both the AC-235 and AC-208 aircraft and all its aircraft solutions.

We will also feature precision guidance technologies for indirect and direct-fired weapons, including the Hatchet, a miniature precision glide weapon. The air-to-ground weapon is designed for employment from aircraft ranging unmanned aerial systems to rotary wing as well as fixed wing fighters and bomber aircraft. Due to its precision, Hatchet greatly reduces the risk of collateral effects while producing extreme lethality through its Lethality Enhanced Ordnance (LEO) approach to warhead development, which provides small weapons with a big punch. A single weapon is used against lightly protected targets, multiple units are utilized as a swarming weapon to service a larger or multiple target set.

Representatives will be available to detail integrated logistics and training packages for medium-caliber cannons as well as our Bushmaster® line of Chain Guns® and automatic cannons that support 7.62mm, 25mm, 30mm and 40mm applications for air, land and sea weapons station platforms.
