Over the past 20 years, CANSEC has grown to become North America’s largest tri-service security and defence event and tradeshow, showcasing leading-edge technologies, products and services for land-based, naval, aerospace and joint forces military units.
CANSEC welcomes over 11,500 registrants annually, including senior defence industry professionals, top government and military VIPs, Members of Parliament, Senators, and Cabinet Ministers along with over 40 international delegations.
This year’s CANSEC, taking place May 29-30 in Ottawa, Canada, will see the launch of the R9B Innovation Hub; a platform that celebrates innovative products and services the Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian Coast Guard, and Canada’s security service providers need to keep Canadians safe and secure, domestically and abroad.
Paul Keogh, Vice President of Operations at the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) –producers of CANSEC– recently stated, “R9B Innovation Hub represents a huge opportunity and value proposition for our members, exhibitors, delegates, and international visitors. We welcome and are very excited to announce the addition of the R9B Innovation Hub as a meeting place within CANSEC for innovative companies looking to showcase their new technologies to key procurement and early stage venture decision makers who attend CANSEC each year. This is a unique opportunity for companies and decision makers to connect and advance their business while offering inventive safety and security benefits for all Canadians.”
A GATEWAY to more business opportunities
Every day provides opportunities for companies to build and strengthen their businesses, this is why the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI) not only provides these opportunities in the physical realm with major industry events such as CANSEC, but also through digital means to compliment these events such as the Association’s new myCADSI portal and GATEWAY suite of business tools.
In October 2018, CADSI launched its new digital ecosystem called myCADSI; a platform to access tools, create profiles, receive relevant industry communications and register for various industry events. After a need-based analysis of the industry, CADSI developed and launched the new online system within myCADSI called GATEWAY back in January 2019.
GATEWAY is a suite of tools designed specifically with and for defence and security companies to help them grow their business. It includes a diverse range of products to help defence and security companies navigate the potentially confusing procurement and export environment.
Launching in April in time for CANSEC 2019, the new GATEWAYcapabilities is one of these innovative new tools. A comprehensive database of Canadian companies in the defence and security industries, GATEWAYcapabilities allows companies to showcase the depth and breadth of defence, maritime, aerospace, security, space, and cyber capabilities to a wider audience of decision makers, like those attending CANSEC. GATEWAYcapabilities is designed to be used as a reference point for industry and government to search and discover Canadian companies.
Another tool within CADSI’s GATEWAY is their new eLearning tool, aptly named GATEWAYacademy. Also being launched prior to this year’s CANSEC, this educational tool features courses that provide insights and information designed to help companies within the defence and security industry, or those just starting out, to enter the supply chain, enter foreign markets, and grow their opportunities.
The first course to be offered within GATEWAYacademy will focus on the fundamentals of small and medium companies engaging and doing business with Prime and OEM organizations, allowing companies to hone their skills prior to taking advantage of the popular pre-schedules 15-minute meetings that are part of the complimentary CANSEC B2B/B2G Program.
CANSEC will take place on May 29 and 30, 2019 at the EY Center in Ottawa, Canada. Discover CADSI GATEWAY only on mycadsi.ca.
