Among a number of exhibits on the Hyundai Rotem stand at MSPO was the K2 Black Panther Main Battle Tank (MBT).
It was announced on 20 June that the Polish Armaments Group will manufacture 180 South Korean K2 tanks for the Polish Army, with the agreement to be signed with Hyundai during the MSPO Defence Expo in Kiele this week.
According to Deputy Prime Minister W. Kosiniak-Kamysz, speaking in June, the defence cooperation with South Korean companies is of strategic importance to Poland. He cited the existing agreements for Korean Aerospace FA-50 aircraft, a $1.6 billion contract for 72 K239 Chunmoo multi-barreled missile launchers from Hanwha Aerospace signed on 25 April, and over 150 Hanwha K9A1/PL 155mm howitzers.
