Exercise Northern Edge 21 is taking place between 3-14 May at various military sites around Alaska.
It is a biennial exercise and involves around 15,000 personnel not only from the US Air Force, but also from the US Army, US Navy and US Marine Corps.
Sponsored by Indo-Pacific Command, it is designed to test and train the participants in a variety of skills including joint all-domain command and control, and all-domain operations and agile combat employment.
The focus is on joint interoperability and is structured to develop combat readiness.
