Rohde & Schwarz will deliver five more integrated communication and control systems, based on NAVICS, for the Type 26 Batch 2 Global Combat Ship Batch 2 (Ships 4-8) under a contract with BAE Systems.

Rohde & Schwarz has proven yet again that the independent company is optimally equipped to support defense programs as large as Type 26 Global Combat Ship, throughout the complete lifecycle, being a reliable partner for both the Royal Navy and BAE Systems.

“We are proud to be part of this major naval asset for the United Kingdom and honoured to be working with a great partner, BAE Systems,” Frank Mackel, Vice President Sales Europe, Rohde & Schwarz, says. “Winning points in receiving this contract award were high customer satisfaction, being ahead of technology and our high vertical integration. We are able to deliver an identical solution for five additional ships.”

NAVICS is the central nervous system of the Type 26 communications system, providing integrated and reliable internal and external communications and processing classified information. It enables a new level of mobility for the ship’s crew by revolutionary wireless terminals for on-board communications on the move.
